The wind came out to play one day.
It swept the clouds out of his way. (Make sweeping motion with hands.) It blew the leaves and away they flew. (Make fluttering motions with fingers.) The trees bent low and their branches did too! (Lift arms high and lower them.) The wind blew the great big ships at sea. (Repeat sweeping motion.) The wind blew the kite away from me! Feel the strong wind, it almost blows me down Hear it whistle through the trees and all around Try to see the wind as it howls and blows But what the wind looks like? Nobody knows. Sung to: "Twinkle, Twinkle, little star" Look outside now; can you say What the weather is like today? Is there sunshine, is there rain, Is wind blowing down the lane? Are there snowflakes falling down, Are there big clouds floating around? Look outside now; can you say What the weather is like today? Tune: Where is Thumbkin? It is raining, it is raining, On my head, on my head. Pitter, patter raindrops, Pitter, patter raindrops, I'm all wet, I'm all wet! One puddle, two puddles made by the rain. Three puddles, four puddles, down in the lane. Five puddles, six puddles we can wade through. Seven puddles, eight puddles quite muddy, too! Nine puddles, ten puddles covering tiny roots Eleven puddles, twelve puddles - we all need our boots! Rain on the green grass (wiggle fingers down to floor and out wide) And rain on the trees (wiggle fingers up and over head) Rain on the housetop, (Make an upside-down "V" with hands) But NOT on me. (arms over head to make an umbrella) Pitter-pat, pitter-pat (drum fingers on the floor) The rain goes on for hours And though it keeps me in the house It's very (hold out two fists, palms up) Good For (open fists) Flowers. (raise and turn hands upwards) Sung to: "Hush Little Baby" I see the wind when the leaves dance by. I see the wind when the clothes wave "Hi!" I see the wind when the trees bend low. I see the wind when the flags all blow. I see the wind when the kites fly high. I see the wind when the clouds float by. I see the wind when it blows my hair. I see the wind most everywhere! Sung to: If You're Happy and You Know It If you feel the blustery wind, Whirl around! If you feel the blustery wind, Whirl around! If you feel it lift your hair Like a kite up in the air, If you feel the blustery wind, Whirl around! When I look into the sky, I can see the clouds go by. They don’t ever make a sound, Letting wind push them around. Some go fast and some go slow, I wonder where the clouds all go. What is fluffy, white and floats up high, Like a pile of cotton in the sky? And when the wind blows hard and strong, What very gently floats along? What brings the rain? What brings the snow That showers down on us way down below? When you look up in the sky, (look up) What is that thing you see floating by? (Clouds) Sung to: "Hush, Little Baby" Rainbow purple, rainbow blue Rainbow green and yellow, too Rainbow orange, rainbow red Rainbow smiling (appearing) overhead. (Sung to: Oh, Christmas Tree) Oh rainbow, oh rainbow How lovely are your colors. Oh rainbow, oh rainbow How lovely are your colors. Purple, red, and orange too; Yellow, green, and blue so true - Oh rainbow, oh rainbow How lovely are your colors. Red and yellow and pink and green, Purple and orange and blue, I can sing a rainbow, Sing a rainbow, Sing a rainbow too. Pitter-patter raindrops Falling from the sky. Here is my umbrella To keep me safe and dry. When the rain is over The sun begins to glow. Little flowers start to bud, And grow and grow and grow. One day the sun was shining bright. (Hold up right hand for sun) But clouds came along, it was dark as night. (Hold up left hand for clouds) The rain began to sprinkle down. (Wiggle both hands for rain coming down) Soon it was raining all over town. But when the clouds had passed on by, (Move both hands to the right) A beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky. (Left hand makes arc over head from right to left) The wind, the wind, Is passing through - Rustling leaves, Whispering to the trees. I'm the west wind, I bring the summer rain, When I blow softly, I whisper your name (Whisper child's name) Boom, bang, boom, bang Rumpety, lumpety, bump! Zoom, zam, zoom, zam Clippety, clappety, clump! Rustles and bustles and swishes and zings - What wonderful noises a thunderstorm brings! The snow fell softly all the night It made a blanket soft and white It covered houses, flowers, and ground But did not make a single sound! Shhhhh! Snowflakes are falling by ones and by twos They fall on my shoulders and on my shoes. They stick to my eyelashes and to my nose, They stick to my mittens and to my clothes. But best of all they stick together To make the biggest snowballs ever! Snow, snow swirling round, Falling to the ground, What an icy sight you make, Dancing all around. Snow, snow swirling round, Flying through the air, What a wintery sight you make, Dancing everywhere. Find more songs about weather: Seasons
