I had a little poodle
(hold up fist) His coat was silver gray, One day I thought I'd bathe him, To wash the dirt away, I washed my little poodle, (scrub fist with other hand), then dried him with a towel (pat fist like drying with a towel) My poodle seemed to like his bath, He didn't even growl. Sung to: "Sing a Song of Sixpence" I have a little kitten, She's black and white and gray. When I try to cuddle her, She always wants to play, So I drag a piece of yarn Across the kitchen floor. She thinks it is a little mouse To chase right out the door. Call the Puppy!! (Slap hands on thighs and whistle) Give him some milk (hold out cupped hands) Brush his coat till it shines like silk (pretend to comb dog's fur) Call the puppy (slap hands on thighs and whistle) Give him a bone (hold hand out open) Then scoop him up (scoop up dog) And take him home (hug dog) This is Frisky's doghouse; This is Frisky's bed; Here is Frisky's pan of water So that he can be fed. Frisky has a collar With his name upon it, too Take a stick and throw it; He'll bring it back to you. (tune of She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain) Oh, I have a little black and white dog. Ruff! Ruff! Oh, I have a little black and white dog. Ruff! Ruff! Oh, I have a little dog, I have a little dog, Oh, I have a little black and white dog. Ruff! Ruff! Oh, he always comes to meet me when I call. Here, boy... Oh, he jumps up high to give me a big lick. Slurp, slurp... Oh, I feed him crunchy dog food every day. Crunch, crunch Ten little dogs went out one day- (10 fingers) To dig in the dirt and play, play, play. (Pretend to dig like a dog with both hands) Five were spotted, and five were not, (Hold up one hand at a time) And at dinner time they ate a lot! It's funny my puppy knows just how I feel When I'm happy he's yappy and squirms and squeals When I'm grumpy he knows to stay at my heel It's funny my puppy knows such a great deal. I have a dog and his name is Rags. He eats so much that his tummy sags. His ears flip-flop, And his tail wig-wags, And when he walks he goes zigzag. Flip-flop, wig-wag, zigzag. (Twice) (hands at either side of head for flip-flop, hips wiggle for wig-wag, arms cross for zigzag) My dog Rags he loves to play. He rolls around in the mud all day. I whistle but he won't obey. He always runs the other way. (Form a circle) There a poodle in a fuddle, In the middle of a puddle! Will he wade to the left? Will he wade to the right? Will he stay in the middle? Till the sun shines bright? When the sun shines bright, Will the puddle disappear? Will the poodle in the middle, Give a great, big cheer? (all cheer) Sung to: "Six Little Ducks" Six little dogs that I once knew, Fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones too. But the one little dog with the brown curly fur, He led the others with a grr, grr, grr. Grr, grr, grr Grr, grr, grr He led the others with a grr, grr, GRR! Sung to: "Bingo" I know a cat with perky ears, And Kitty is her name-o. K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, And Kitty is her name-o. She makes a sound and it's "meow," And Kitty is her name-o. K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, And Kitty is her name-o. I have a kitty cat named Puff. He's round and soft as a ball of fluff. Each day he laps up all his milk. And his fur is soft as silk. When he's happy you will know, For his fluffy tail swings to and fro. A kitten is hiding under a chair I looked and looked for her everywhere Under the table and under the bed I looked around the corner, and when I said, Come here kitty kitty, there's milk for you Kitty came running: meow, meow, meow! Where, oh where has my little dog gone? Oh, where oh where can he be? Oh his tail is short and his ears are long, Oh, where oh where can he be? My little dog always waggles his tail Whenever he wants his food. And if the tail was stronger than him, Well, the tail would waggle the dog. (Make a fist of left hand for kitty, and pet the kitty.) Soft kitty, warm kitty Little ball of fur Lazy kitty, pretty kitty purr, purr, purr The black cat yawns, opens her jaws Stretches her legs and shows her claws. Then she gets up and stands on four Long stiff legs and yawns some more. Lifting herself on her delicate toes She arches her back as high as it goes. She lets herself down with particular care And pads away with her tail in the air. Love, love, love your pets Love them every day, Give them food, and water too, And let them run and play! |
