5 Freebies to Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is April 22nd every year.

This is a concise page of vocabulary and pictures related to Earth Day and taking care of our planet. Go over each word/picture, talk about what it represents, and how young people can be part of helping together.

The page can be used by older students in a writing center.

Earth Day (every day) tally marks and 10-frames number match 1-12. Cut out the 10-frames and tally marks boxes, and paste on top of the matching numbers. Color the picture if you wish.

This informational emergent reader tells about some things that young children can do to help our Planet Earth. On the last page a child can draw something that he/she can do to help.

I love you, Planet Earth! “dictate and draw” page. Discuss the page; younger children dictate their words and draw pictures, teacher writes the words. Older children can complete the page alone.  

Make an Earth Day counting and matching center using 10-frames graphic organizers, from 0-10. Cut out Helping Kids cards and Earth 10-frames cards. Children match numbers with sets of Planet Earth.
