Sung to: "My Darling Clementine"

Albuquerque is a turkey
And he's feathered and he's fine
And he wobbles and he gobbles
And he's absolutely mine!
He's the best pet you can get yet
Better than a dog or cat
He's my Albuquerque turkey
And I'm awfully proud of that!
And my Albuquerque turkey
Is so happy in his bed
'Cause for our Thanksgiving Dinner
We have spaghetti instead!

***

Five little pumpkins sitting on the ground
The first one said, "I'm big, orange and round!"
The second one said, "I'm fresh off the vine!"
The third one said, "I taste divine!"
The fourth one said, "I'm ready to be tasted!"
The fifth one said, "Bake my seeds so they're not wasted!"
Someone from the kitchen picked them up and we know why...
The five little pumpkins all became PUMPKIN PIE!

***

Pilgrim children did not play
On that first Thanksgiving Day.
The first chopped wood which he could take
To help his sister cook and bake.
The second took a great big sack,
And brought some nuts, all they could crack.
The third one caught a turkey and

Then she helped to roast it in a pan.
The fourth ground corn to make the bread
The fifth made covers for the bed.
The sixth one brought a pumpkin by,
Then she cut it up to make it pie.
The seventh came and popped some corn.
The eighth fed horses in the barn
The ninth watched food or it might burn,
The tenth churned butter in a churn.
Pilgrim children did not play
On that first Thanksgiving Day.

"Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble", says the turkey.

I love the turkey.
I love the stuffing'.

He spreads his tail and walks like that.
His daily corn he would not miss.
And when he talks, it sounds like this:
GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE!

***

Pick the corn and pick the beans,
Pick the squash and other greens,
It is harvest time you see -
Come and share a feast with me.
Bring your family over to play,
And we'll eat together this Thanksgiving Day.

***

"If You're Happy and You Know It"

Hello, Mr. Turkey how are you?
Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you?
His feet go wobble, wobble
And his head goes Gobble, Gobble.
Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you?

Five little turkeys by the barn door,
One waddled off, then there were four.
Four little turkeys out under the tree,
One waddled off, then there were three.
Three little turkeys with nothing to do.
One waddled off, then there were two.
Two little turkeys in the noonday sun,
One waddled off, then there was one.
One little turkey - better run away!
Soon it will beThanksgiving Day.

***

Turkey dinner, turkey dinner
Gather round, gather round
Who will get the drumstick?
Yummy, yummy drumstick
All sit down, all sit down.

Cornbread, muffins,
Chestnuts, stuffing,
Pumpkin pie, ten feet high.
We were all much thinner, before we sat for dinner!
Me, oh, my! Me, oh, my!

Tune:The Farmer in the Dell

Thanksgiving time is here
Let's give a great big cheer
For food and friends and family
Thanksgiving time is here.

Tune: One little, two little, three little Indians

One little, two little, three little turkeys,
Gobbly, wobbly, bobbly turkeys,

Tune: If You're Happy...

If you're thankful and you know it clap your hands
If you're thankful and you know it clap your hands
If you're thankful and you know it

Tune: She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain.

I am thankful for my dog and for my cat,
And my teddy bear so furry, soft and fat,
I am thankful for soft kittens
And my nice warm woolen mittens
And my swing set and my baseball and my bat.

I am thankful for my crayons and my books,
And the way our brand new baby smiles and looks,
I am thankful for potatoes
And for juicy ripe tomatoes
And for all the tasty food that mommy cooks.

I am thankful for my mommy and my dad,
They both love me whether I am good or bad,
I am thankful for the flowers
And refreshing summer showers,
All the pretty things around me make me glad.

***

Tune:Are you Sleeping?

Turkey feathers, turkey feathers
Brightly colored, brightly colored-
Who has a red one?
I have a red one,
Add it now. Add it now.

***

Tune: Six little ducks
Six little turkeys that I once knew-
Fat ones, skinny ones,
Brown ones too.
But the one little turkey with the
Funny red wattle,
He led the others with his
Gobble, gobble, gobble.
He led the other with his
Gobble, gobble, gobble.

Over the rocks and through the trees,
Turkeys wobbling in the breeze,
But the one little turkey with the
Funny red wattle,
He led the others with his
Gobble, gobble, gobble!

***

Tune: Farmer in the Dell

The turkeys in the pen,
They turkeys in the pen.
Gather round and you will see-
The turkeys in the pen.

Gather round and you will see-
The pilgrims on the boat.

The Indians in the field,
The Indians in the field,
Gather round and you will see-
The Indians in the field.

The pumpkins in the patch,
Gather round and you will see-

Gather round and you will see-
The corn on the cob.

Tune:This Old Man

Little turkeys walking by,
They can move from side to side,
With a wibble-wobble here and a wibble-wobble there-
They can wibble-wobble everywhere.
Little turkeys making sounds.
They can talk as they move around
With a gobble-gobble here and a gobble-gobble there,
They can gobble-gobble everywhere.

Do the turkey gobble,

Tune: My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean

My uncle is eating the drumstick,
My auntie is chewing the wing,
My cousin in nibbling the stuffing,

Bring back, bring back
Please bring me back anything left to bring -
Bring back, bring back
Thanksgiving's a wonderful thing.

My daddy loves candied potatoes,
My mother, the cranberry ring,
My brother is covered with gravy,
Thanksgiving's a wonderful thing.
