This is a set of cards showing 30 pairs of items that commonly go together, to use for teaching tools, centers and games. Plus 3 cut and paste worksheets for individual work. Print the cards on cardstock for longer use.

Included:
- 30 pairs of large separate flashcards (60 all together), picturing easily recognized items that commonly go together. They are labeled. 30 of the cards have a green border, and their 30 matching partners all have a red border, so the 2 groups can be easily differentiated when creating and playing games. In color.
- 30 pairs of the same items, both pictured on the same card. These smaller cards can also be cut in half, to create another matching activity. In color.
- A graphic organizer to use to sort the cards. In BW.
- 3 follow-up cut and paste activity worksheets, where the children can match the go-together pairs. More appropriate for kindergarten ages and up. In BW.
Some things to do:
- Introduce fewer pairs at first, and for younger children.
- Show the pairs in a group lesson to name the items to make sure the function and relationship are understood.
- Ask if the children can think of other items that could go together. Hold up a card, ask if the children can name something that might belong with it.
- Center – set out several pairs to sort onto the organizer mat. The cards can be mixed or separated into groups with green and red borders.
- Play a Memory game, where some of the pairs are placed upside down in a grid.
- Use a pocket chart with a group to make a matching activity.
