This is a set of 21 writing prompt / oral language printables, with a nursery rhyme theme

For early learners (not writing yet):
Show the page to a small group or an individual and ask what they can see in the picture. “Does this remind you of nursery rhyme you have heard?” Say the nursery rhyme together and refer back to the items in the picture. Ask the question “What is happening here?” Write the words on the page for an individual child. With a small group, have the children color/decorate the picture while writing the words for each student.
For early writers:
Follow the suggestions above, and then have the children write one or two sentences. The focus is on language expression and picture analysis, rather than correct spelling or handwriting.
