Hearts shapes theme numbers and literacy activities and centers (plus much more) for preschool and pre-K. This theme unit links heart shapes to Valentine's Day and valentines.
This pack is developmentally appropriate for preschool and pre-K children and would work well in a February or Valentine's Day curriculum plan.
42 pages, plus cover and contents
Besides the activities, songs, stories and games listed for the day, this pack includes these centers and printables:
• Upper and lower case alphabet set - heart shaped flowers and butterflies
- Labeled colorful hearts for hiding, finding and counting sets.
• Children arrange sequence cards for making a strawberry milkshake. Color and b/w.
• Order by size Valentine/heart presents. What do you think might be in them?
• Center – match heart 10-frames to teddies holding numbers 0-10
• Heart maze printables (2) – follow the hearts with a bingo dauber, marker etc.
• Center – completing the hearts patterns. The completing hearts can be pre-cut, or the children can cut and paste them.
• Shape matching center (12 shapes) – print 2 copies of the shapes set, the children match same shapes. This can be designed a s a file folder activity.
- 3 rhyme and song printables to "read" and decorate.
• Color and cut out the 5 hearts from the “5 Little Valentines” counting rhyme. Pretend they are cookies, and arrange and paste on a paper plate.

- Discuss and draw - How many hearts can you count? Draw some more.
