The teaching theme focus for this packet is Thanksgiving, with the emphasis on Thanksgiving traditional food. This is the second of 2 units about Thanksgiving. The other unit focuses on the story of Thanksgiving.
This pack is developmentally appropriate for preschool and pre-K children, and would be especially helpful as part of a "Families" early childhood curriculum, or taught in November with other units about family and neighborhood.

Besides the activities, songs, stories and games listed for the day, this pack includes these centers and printables:
• Set of large food manipulatives for games, vocabulary, flannel board etc.
• Math mats – count sets of Thanksgiving foods onto a mat. Print as many mats as you need, write a number in the box on each one.
• Make an emergent reader “At Thanksgiving, We Eat…”
• Cut and paste - counting food items.
• Center - What was it before it was dinner? cards set. Match the pairs.
• Play dough mats (2) – add vegetables to dinner plate, and fruit to cornucopia.
• Cut and paste activity – My Yummy Dinner – Choose five of the offered food items and paste them on a plate background. Promote discussion about likes and dislikes.
• Upper case alphabet letters flashcards
- Decorate a placemat for dinner (color and b/w)
- "I am thankful for ..." printables (3)
